It's not completely clear to me exactly when the Botswanan group known as Eskimos got together. Research on that point has been tricky. But who's counting? The group is apparently still active, having been together for at least two decades.
I've spent a lot of time listening to the first song embedded below and nearly as much time trying to figure out what it's called. I've come to the tentative conclusion that it's called "Gwawa," but don't hold me to that. It's a great song and, as it so often the case with Botswanan pop music videos, there's plenty of outstanding dancing on display. So watch it. Don't just listen to it.
The second song is called "Maskente." It's also a great song and, if I'm not mistaken, is meant to be comical. There's quite a bit of foolishness going on and it might make more sense if I understood Setsawana, Botswana's primary language, but I haven't made that leap yet.
Enjoy.
