Pick of the Week - Shem Tube and Friends (Kenya)

More acoustic guitar music from Shem Tube, of Kenya. Two versions of a song, as recorded as part of the Singing Wells project.

I've featured a bunch of acoustic guitar music here, including several songs by from Kenya's Shem Tube. Today's feature is two versions of the song "Grace Mpenzi," performed by Tube and various others.

This music has been recorded by the Singing Wells Project, which I wrote about here. It's an amazing project and it's really worth a look and listen.

The Singing Wells project (SWP) is a collaboration between Abubilla Music, a record label in London and Ketebul Music in Kenya, a non-profit organisation committed to identifying, preserving and promoting the diverse music traditions of East Africa.
