Pick Of The Week - Selmor Mtukudzi (Zimbabwe)

A studio track from Selmor's first album and a live one from a UK music festival.

The name Mtukudzi turns up at this site often and there's a reason for that. I mostly recommend things that I like and listen to a lot and I've been listening a lot of of music lately by the great Zimbabwean musician, Oliver Mtukudzi.

Tuku's daughter Selmor chose to follow in her late father's footsteps and released her first album - Shungu - in 2008. The first song below - “Chiro” - is from that album. The second one is from an African Music Festival held in the UK. It cuts off near the end, but not before the fancy footwork starts.
