Pick of the Week - Maqedimbuzi (Zimbabwe?)

Dumelang. As our name suggests, Music of Africa is about music. But I've noticed that music and comedy sometimes intersect there. In Botswana, for example, there's Triple R and Mahempe, groups who make great music and turn out videos that are often comical. Check out some of their stuff here.

I'm not sure if Maqedimbuzi is a comedian or a musician or a group of comedians or a group of musicians. It's all kind of hazy. My guess is that the silly guy in green in the video posted here is none other than Maqedimbuzi. Perhaps he hails from Zimbabwe, where this recent video was filmed and perhaps not. Details are hard to track down.

In any event, the video is good for a few laughs and the band move along at a furious pace that any self-respecting punk band would be proud to call their own. Enjoy.
