Giddes Chalamanda has turned up in a Pick of the Week here before, appearing with Keturah. Both musicians hail from Malawi. For today's Pick of the Week, we feature another song where Chalamanda teams up with a younger Malawian musician, Patience Namadingo.

A few years ago, as this article in the British press notes, Chalamanda became a "Malawian musician turned viral TikTok star." With the song featured here. At the ripe young age of 92.

While Chalamanda did "not even own a smartphone or have electricity to charge one," the version of his song with Namadingo went viral and came to the attention of Malawi's president, who invited him for a visit.
