Dumelang. Our focus is typically on southern African countries. But we move north a bit, to Uganda, this time around.

This week's Pick of the Week is from Ugandan musician, Eddy Kenzo. Who's come a long way from a childhood spent living on the streets to being Uganda’s first-ever Grammy-nominated musician. More about Kenzo in this recent interview with CNN.

Kenzo will be doing a few dates here in these United States in May and June, so get out there and see him if you can.

I couldn't choose between two Kenzo songs for this pick. So we're going with "Mariaroza" this time around and will probably have a bonus pick coming up soon. Stay tuned.
