Happy Birthday, Black Umfolosi
The Zimbabwean vocal group have been doing their thing for 41 years.
Zimbabwean vocal group Black Umfolosi celebrated their 41st year in the entertainment business a few weeks ago. They marked the milestone with a show on November 3, at the Bulawayo Theatre, in Harare, Zimbabwe's capital.
As their web site puts it, "Black Umfolosi is a self taught Acappella (Imbube) singing and traditional dance group that was formed in 1982 by the then school age members who wanted to develop themselves and contribute to their community. Specialising in imbube music, gumboot dance and Zulu dance, Black Umfolosi has toured extensively nationally and internationally."
The Zimbabwean covered the "royal 5-star feast of music and dance" that marked the anniversary, here.
