Cde Chinx - "Nyika Yedu Yezimbabwe"

From Zimbabwe, a toe-tapper from a former resistance fighter.

Cde Chinx was born Dickson Chingaira Makoni. He took part in the Zimbabwean war of liberation in the late Seventies, organizing the Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) People’s Choir. After the war, he turned his attentions to being a musician. He died in 2017. This was the first time I'd encountered his music, but "Nyika Yedu YeZimbabwe" ("Our Country Zimbabwe") is so catchy I listened to it several times in a row and could have kept on going.
