According to Wikipedia, "The music of Botswana is minor in the world music scene." It's not for me to say if that's true. But I've noticed that when African music is mentioned, it's often music from countries that seem to have a higher profile. Let's try Nigeria, Ghana, Mali, and Senegal, for starters.
Since starting Music of Africa, I've done my part to draw attention to Botswana's "minor" music efforts. The music of this southern African country has had a "major" impact on me. I can't put a finger on why. I'll get back to you if I figure it out.

Here's something by the Re Batswana Music Ensemble, doing a song called "Re Batsawana." From the late Botswanan musician known as Stampore. We've featured Stampore here at the site and in the playlist.
